EMS Service
In 2005 the Fire Department responded to 1133 acute and non-acute medical emergencies and traumatic incidents.
9 Firefighters are certified Paramedics, a program which requires both classroom and clinical training totaling nearly 2000 hours.
5 Firefighters are certified at the EMT Intermediate level. Expanding our Advanced Life Support service to include 14 department members.
The remaining 6 employees are certified at the EMT Basic level, assuring that all members are able to provide for the communities emergency medical needs.
EMS Equipment
The town has purchased advanced life support equipment including:
Phillips MRX - ALS Monitor / Defibrillator / Pacemaker
Non-invasive Carbon Monoxide detector able to detect Carbon Monoxide in a persons blood stream
Numerous state of the art equipment keeping pace with todays technology.
EMS Training
All department members are continuously involved with inservice training in compliance with both state and national standards.
