NEW WATER SERVICE INSTALLATION
NOTIFICATION AND PROCEDURE
- THE WATER DEPARTMENT MUST BE NOTIFIED 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF INSTALLATION
- ONLY WATER DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL ARE AUTHORIZED TO OPERATE A CURB STOP
- WATER DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL MUST INSPECT THE TRENCH AND APPROVE MATERIALS BEFORE ANY BACKFILLING CAN OCCUR
- ALL REPAIR WORK MUST BE CONDUCTED BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM ON MONDAY – FRIDAY
- WATER SERVICE MUST COME UP THROUGH FLOOR AT LEAST 5 FEET AWAY FROM OTHER UTILITIES
- MATERIALS AND PROCEDURE:
- SERVICE TUBING: 200 PSI TEST MINIMUM, CTS, PE OR PB PLASTIC WATER SERVICE TUBING WITH APPROPRIATELY SIZED INSERTS
- SERVICE BRASS: FORD WITH COMPRESSION CONNECTIONS
- TRENCH DEPTH: 5 FEET MINIMUM WITH CLEAN MATERIAL OR SAND USED FOR PIPE BEDDING AND 1 FOOT PIPE COVER, METALLIC INDICATOR TAPE TO BE PLACED 1 FOOT FROM FINAL GRADE DURING BACKFILLING
