Open to Gr 5-8. SPACE IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 280 PLAYERS TO SIGN-UP BEFORE THE DEC 3 DEADLINE.
OTHERS PLAYERS & LATE REGISTRATIONS GO ON A WAIT LIST & ARE CALLED IF SOMEONE CANCELS. A fun league where all play equal time - no standings, no all-stars, no trophies. Play because you like to. Boys & girls play in separate leagues. Grades 5 & 6 play in one league, grades 7 & 8 in another. All teams coached by high school students at least 3 grades older than the division they coach (see below).
League administrators select team players randomly. Players will be notified of their team after Dec 19th. If you have not heard by Dec 27, call the Rec Office, 781-659-8046. Sorry, we cannot accomodate individual requests for team assignments. Note player height and shirt size on the registration form.
PRACTICES - BEGIN the week of JANUARY 7th. No practices: MLK Day, snow days, & during February vacation.
Boys Gr 5/6 Mondays, 7-8:15p @ Middle School Gym Boys Gr 5/6 only No Practice Feb 4 (setup for Primary elections @ NMS)
Girls Gr 5/6 Mondays, 7-8:15p @ Cole School Gym
Boys Gr 7/8 Wednesdays, 7-8:15p @ Middle School Gym
Girls Gr 7/8 Wednesdays, 7-8:15p @ Vinal Gym
One & 1/4 hour each week. Although not mandatory, practices add to the fun. If you cannot practice with your team, you can still play with them on Saturdays.
GAMES - Played Saturdays, JANUARY 12 - MARCH 15, no games are scheduled during either Saturday of February school vacation. Times vary between the hours
of 8a-4p. 8 game schedule. Please do not register if you cannot commit to attending games. Leave March 29 open in case we need make-up games due to cancellations.
LEAGUE COACHES: COACHES PROGRAM IS NOW FULL!! Open to Gr 10-12, College age ok too. All coaches are high school (or college) students. AT LEAST two coaches for each team in our Gr 5-8 League - three coaches are ok. Coaches must be at least
three (3) grades older than the division they coach, ex. Gr 10 must coach Gr 5/6 Division. All coaches must pass a background (CORI) check and attend the mandatory COACHES MEETING/CLINIC, MONDAY, DEC. 17 AT 7pm at the Recreation Office. Parents can enjoy this youth league as supportive spectators! Register at the Recreation Office by Nov 15.
